Social networking and online classrooms have become part of our students' present academic reality and will continue to be important platforms for them to interact and learn. Edmodo provides a safe platform for teachers and students to learn netiquette, develop socially, and do their school work. Teachers can monitor the online environment, deliver assignments to students, collect and grade student work, and create a collaborative virtual classroom. This workshop will give you the tools you need and the hands on experience to get started using this valuable resource. You will experience, in real time, the nuts and bolts of creating, joining, and running a web based classroom.

Kent Thompson has used edmodo.com in his classroom for the past two years. He will share his experiences and successes along with tips and tactics to get the most out of edmodo. Come and try out edmodo for yourself. If you are looking for an interactive social networking activity or an online classroom, you should take a look at this great solution. Students stay engaged and involved, communication and collaboration are enhanced, and it is a fun way to flip the classroom.
