Come discover how to harness the transformative potential of filmmaking and digital storytelling to improve teaching practice and increase student engagement. This introductory workshop will show educators how to design breakthrough media arts experiences that reignite a young person’s passion for learning. As part of the workshop, instructors from Salt Lake City’s SHIFT organization will share digital storytelling tips, resources, and compelling films produced by students of teachers who have participated in SHIFT/Adobe Youth Voices training workshops. Furthermore, we will demonstrate how to start the filmmaking process in the classroom, lending to positive learning behaviors and opportunities for students to acquire, apply, and build upon their core content knowledge.

In addition to the workshop, participating educators will receive a free SHIFT curriculum guide and gain access to Adobe Youth Voices extensive online instructional resources.
