Katie Blunt is UCET's Past President. She has been an Educational Technology Specialist for the Canyons School District since 2009. Before that, she taught sixth grade for eight years. Katie has teaching endorsements in Educational Technology, Multimedia, Keyboarding, and ESL. Katie was named UCET's very first Outstanding Young Educator of the Year in 2011. Katie received her bachelor's degree in elementary education from Brigham Young University and her master's degree in Instructional Design and Educational Technology from the University of Utah. As an Ed Tech Specialist, she supports teachers in their use of educational technology by connecting technology tools to core curriculum, modeling lessons, training teachers, working with students, and developing educational technology professional development curriculum. Katie has been a presenter at ISTE, UCET, SUECON, UMLA, and PodCamp SLC. She is in charge of the Annual Canyons District Film Festival and is a teacher for the PBS NewsHour Student Reporting Labs project. Katie is the 2016 Canyons School District APEX Award winner for Student Support Services Professional of the Year.
