Driving Students to Write, With Google Drive

Google Drive makes collaborative writing activities and group research projects easy and fun for 5th Graders. In this session participants will learn how a 5th Grade Class at Midvalley Elementary used a lab of Google Chromebooks to enhance their writing activities with Google Docs, and Google Slideshows.

Students will demonstrate projects they have created throughout the year, along with discussing their funnest experiences and learning methods. They will also be discussing different strategies and techniques for introducing iPads in the classroom and what can be done to limit the stress and confusion of having to learn a "new" way of learning.

During this presentation, participants will see how six elementary school classroom teachers used classroom iPad labs to replace learning activities that were previously done on paper, allow students to access information that was previously out of their reach, and provide opportunities to design and produce innovative and creative digital products. Bring your iPad and see how to use apps like Educreations, Doceri, Edmodo, TapIt, and Google Drive to engage students and enhance curriculum in a digital classroom.
