During this presentation, participants will see how six elementary school classroom teachers used classroom iPad labs to replace learning activities that were previously done on paper, allow students to access information that was previously out of their reach, and provide opportunities to design and produce innovative and creative digital products. Bring your iPad and see how to use apps like Educreations, Doceri, Edmodo, TapIt, and Google Drive to engage students and enhance curriculum in a digital classroom.

ClickerSchool is online formative assessment at its best with games and polls using clickers, smartphones, laptops, or tablets. In this presentation we’ll provide an overview on how you can gain immediate insight into students’ strengths and weaknesses by bringing your own device (BYOD). We’ll begin by introducing you to ClickerSchool, covering the features and process of acquiring an account. After a brief introduction we’ll proceed into a series of interactive activities, inviting session participants to use their smartphones, tablets, or laptops to engage in a small selection of our subject library. ClickerSchool blends BYOD and hardware clickers seamlessly and Eduware will be providing hardware clickers for participants without devices. Participants will have opportunities to ask questions throughout and will have a chance to provide feedback at the end of the session.

Digitize your students’ work as you capture, organize, share, and authentically assess student artifacts with this exceptional free tool. Using a website and mobile iOS or Android apps, Three Ring instantly captures photos and video and uploads most file types. This digital locker can then be securely shared with students and parents, thus creating an electronic portfolio. Comments and feedback can be shared between parents, student, and teacher. Participants will create free accounts, learn management basics, practice capturing photos and video, and see how Three Ring is used in a real classroom. Walk out of this session with a podcast of your own, from start to finish. Learn the tools and tricks needed to teach students how to create an audio podcast. Once they have this tool in their tool box use it as an assessment tool across disciplines. Used with a rubric, podcasting is a great way to assess understanding.
