Designing High-Impact Courses for Blended Environments Using OERs
Limited Capacity seats available

Presentation Site
This hands-on workshop will give participants an opportunity to create instructional learning outcomes and align assessments to those learning outcomes for a "mini course" of their choosing. We will then discuss methods for finding, evaluating, and incorporating open educational resources into curriculum that would support student learning in a blended or flipped classroom environment.

The goal of this workshop is to help teachers improve course quality by ensuring alignment among course components and incorporating engaging resources that help students see the relevance of content they are learning.

You Can be the Teacher AND the Class Clown!
There is such a thing as having a well-managed class, which can progress academically, AND be fun! Learn how to “juggle” these important aspects of a successful classroom with ideas, tips, and stories from former Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus clown turned educator, Valerie Hall (aka Daisy the Clown).
By incorporating several classroom management programs including CHAMPS, classroom cheers, raps, songs, unique motivators, and humor, Valerie Hall has made her classrooms blossom into a welcoming environment that students love to go to.
With Valerie’s techniques, she has been able to increase academic scores, while decreasing referrals at Title One schools, see a growth rate of 80% in parent participation at those same Title One schools, and decrease negative behaviors in her current ABS (Academic Behavior Support) Classroom by 60% since the beginning of the school year through January.
Be prepared to participate in this fun professional development opportunity, by learning and shouting cheers, dancing, singing, and maybe even by donning a clown nose.

Read Books with Your Ears
Presentation Site
Do your Audiobooks show up as Music? Getting your books on CD (compact Disk) to iTunes and your iPod is really easy. I have a recipe to make the process even better. We'll join the tracks to one file per disk, import to iTunes, then make it an audiobook and add album art so you can visually keep track of your book in your library. We can even make you iPod remember were you left off.

You'll use this skill many times and enjoy more books while doing other things.
